Our 2.5 y/o German shepherd x retriever is dog reactive. Before the course we were 9/10 unable to see or pass dogs without incident. Week on week we saw big improvements with Gandalf. We have learned practical techniques and gained a deeper understanding of doggo body language and communication. With a focus on training the human as well as teaching the dog better ways of acting in situations, Charlotte and Alice have given us all some much needed confidence and many tools to use to manage any situation and continue our training. It is not an overnight cure for Gandalf's reactivity and we did not expect it to be. But the improvements we have seen already, having only completed the final session this week, are more than enough reinforcement that it is certainly working! Extremely valuable course with engineered scenarios to play out real life situations with the very calm, kind and understanding, Charlotte and Alice, ready to offer very helpful and non-judgmental advice. Me and Jax have just finished the 6 week capable canines course, which provided a lot of helpful techniques and was lots of fun; it has definitely built on the relationship between me and Jax. We have had so many people comment on how they have noticed a change in Jax - it’s baby steps with him, but he is on the right track and that’s thanks to Charlotte’s help 🙂 We have also had some one to one training, and Charlotte has been really supportive in these too, providing useful methods to help with the issues which we have struggled with. Charlotte is very knowledgeable, friendly and professional and gave us lots of techniques to help with our issues. We have just completed the confidence canine course with Charlotte. It’s the 2nd course we have done with her and I would highly recommend her as a trainer. She is able to break down the training into easy bite sized pieces, adapt it for dogs (or owners) that are finding bits tricky and willing to look at alternative rewards based upon your dogs drive. The confidence canine course built upon the skills we learnt in the puppy class, while also encourage further commands that will enhance your engagement with your dog. We’ve been on a 7 week course with Charlotte and we also had Charlotte came and did a house visit before the course as we were having problems with our golden retriever puppy. Charlotte is very patient, her training methods are effective and make sense! I like the fact that her training is all about positive reinforcement. She’s always happy to answer any questions and go over things again if you’re struggling. Charlotte has been helping is with our dog Thelma. Thelly is reactive towards other dogs and has a fear of the vets. We had an amazing time at the Canine Confidence Workshop today! Our anxious rescue dog Joni was so responsive to Charlotte’s gentle and kind manner, and we loved that Charlotte prioritised taking everything at Joni’s pace. We learned so many fantastic enrichment activities that we can wait to replicate at home and half way through the session Joni started taking treats - something she hasn’t felt confident enough to do yet on any walk/training session. This was a huge leap forward and so much thanks to Charlotte’s help, support, and guidance. It was a lovely small class, so plenty of 1-1 with charlotte. Millie gained in confidence from the class. She now knows her basic commands and responds well to them. The puppy walk was a good experience. I thoroughly recommend charlotte. She’s friendly, caring and very knowledgeable. Charlotte has offered 1-1 for Millie to help with her “over friendly” reaction to other dogs whilst she’s on lead. It’s good to know I can take up this offer if I need to. If you are hesitant about classes, I was, I would say give it a go. We certainly benefited from the experience. Thank you charlotte.
